This figure is based on Kylie Minogue from the end of the "Can't get you out of my head" video that she's famous for. This was the first time I tried a real minature portrait, especially in wax. It took me a long time to get anything that looked even close to her, and of course it could still be better. I made a few changes to the dress, including dropping the neckline, which I think gives it an even sexier appearance. I also gave her her hairstyle from the live performance of this song, as opposed to the video.
Ever since I saw this dress I have wanted to sculpt it, all the little flaps and the way they move I think make an incredible statue. This was an entirely personal work, and I only ever cast one version of her, the flaps came out nearly perfectly, which I was very pleased with. Being only my second experiance with wax she's pretty bumpy unfortunately. I'd like to come back to this someday and perfect her face and body.
The cd cases she's standing on hold a speaker system, and the cd on the back plays her songs.
